We will start our summer series in Englewood with I Grow Chicago. I Grow Chicago’s work is holistic and works to address both the causes and symptoms of violence and inequality in Englewood. Their portfolio of programs focuses on restorative justice, mindfulness, skill building, and urban farming.

Stories of Englewood: From Past to Present will take place on June 29th at 1PM in I Grow Chicago’s Peace Garden. This event will bring together neighbors from across Chicago to hear from multiple generations of Englewood residents, building understanding and common ground through storytelling, poetry, and discussion. The gathering will be followed by a tour of I Grow’s Peace Home and the surrounding neighborhood.
